Hotel Au Bon Accueil has been THE cycling hotel of the French Alps for many decades. Situated between all the famous cycling mountains, the hotel has an A-rated location. All facilities for cyclists are present at the hotel amongst which: enough and good nutrition, good beds and showers, massages, a locked bicycle shed with alarm, cycling workroom, extensive route descriptions, a daily pasta buffet and of course a snug bar and terrace.
Each year the Tour de France comes near the hotel, and almost every other year there is a finish at the famous Alpe ‘d Huez, at 7 km from the hotel. Sometimes there is a stage with a start and finish in Les 2 Alpes. With the ski lift from Venosc, 3 km from the hotel, this is really nearby and good to reach. During these weeks you will experience a special atmosphere and internationality.
Many cycling events are also organized in the l’Oisans, such as the Alpe d’Huzes (beginning of June) and La Marmotte (beginning of July). La Marmotte is a 174 kilometers recreational tour with 5 kilmoters of altitude change, which will go over the mountains: Col de la Croix de Fer, Col du Telegraphe, Col du Galibier and as a ‘dessert’ the Alpe d’Huez.

Maybe the most scenic and beautiful route in Europe, on which the hotel is situated, is La Bérarde (27 km). The route leads to the old Shepherd’s Village ‘La Bérarde’. At the end of the route you will feel like you’ve reached the end of the world. You can see many mountain ranges, turquoise lakes and a lot of wildlife. Especially for cyclists: our PASTA BUFFET!
To cycle all these amazing routes it is of course important to eat plenty! That is why we offer, besides our extensive breakfast and delicious 3 course meal in the evening, a special pasta buffet during the afternoon. Every day we prepare 2 different types of pasta and sauces (of which 1 is vegetarian) for you, supplement every day by a “special” pasta. This is all included in the price for our cycling- and Marmotte packages.
Special Marmotte package
One of the most important cycling events in the area is ofcourse the annual Marmotte Granfondo! Thanks to its close proximity to the start and finish, Hotel Au Bon Accueil is the ideal base to stay during this event. We even offer a special Marmotte package during the week around race day.
First and foremost, on the day of the Marmotte we organize special care posts located on various points of the course, exclusively for guests at our hotel. You can prepare special packages which we will then distribute and give to you on each unique posts, which are located after the climb of the Glandon, Telegraph, Galibier, as well as before the Alpe d’Huez and finally at the finish on top of the Alpe d’Huez. Besides this we also offer complimentary water, cola, pancakes, watermelon and of course encouragement!

In the days leading up to the Marmotte we also organize various things, such as a special cake buffet and a extensive pasta buffet on the day and evening before the big event. This way you can be assured to be as well prepared as possible at the start of your race!
